What is the Role of the Brake Resistor in the Inverter?

The frequency converter is an important part of the automobile. It controls the power control equipment of the AC motor by changing the frequency of the working power of the motor. The inverter is not limited to the application of automotive products, and the use of the inverter can also be seen on many other products. The frequency converter usually brings some problems during the use. The appearance of the brake resistor allows the inverter to successfully solve these problems. Below we will carefully analyze the use of the brake resistor in the inverter.
We know that during the fast stop process, due to inertia, a large amount of regenerative energy is generated. If the electric energy is not well processed or consumed, these circuits will remain in the circuit of the inverter, so it is easy to find the inverter is damaged and does not work properly. The failure of the inverter to work properly will bring more serious problems. In order to better solve this kind of electric energy, the appearance of the braking resistor can well solve this problem, thus protecting the inverter from the electric energy generated by the motor.
The brake resistor works by adding a discharge resistor unit component to the DC side of the inverter, and regenerative energy is consumed on the power resistor to achieve braking. In this way, the regenerative energy is consumed by the special energy-consuming braking circuit on the resistor and converted into heat energy, which is the most direct way to deal with the regenerative energy, and the braking resistor is thus widely used.
There are many choices in the selection of brake resistors. Aluminum alloy resistors and ripple resistors are the most widely used brake resistors.
Both resistors have their own advantages and characteristics. Taking aluminum alloy resistors as an example, alloy resistors have better weather resistance and vibration resistance than traditional ceramic skeleton resistors. They can be used in high-demand harsh industrial environments, and are easy to install, easy to attach radiator. With the advancement of technology, alloy resistance products have also changed, more and more models can be used in the inverter to protect the safe and stable operation of the inverter.
