How to Reduce Failure Rate of New Energy Vehicle Using Ternary Material Power Battery

The production and sale of new energy electric vehicles have been popularized all over the world, but the problem of failure rate of new energy vehicles has always been a difficult problem for various manufacturers. How to reduce the battery failure rate of new energy vehicles is an important field of new energy competition. Many companies give priority to batteries and their battery management systems when developing electric vehicles. Take Tesla electric vehicle as an example, they have excellent battery management system and battery with precision shunt, which gives it the best competitive advantage in the industry.
At present, many new energy vehicles are using ternary material power batteries. The most common failures of pure electric passenger cars include mismatch of rechargeable energy storage systems, low SOC alarm, under-voltage of on-board energy storage devices, single cell undervoltage alarm and the poor consistency of the power battery, which account for 78% of the total fault volume. However, the faults of pure electric special vehicle are relatively dispersed, the consistency of power battery is poor, the single battery overvoltage alarm, the single battery undervoltage alarm and the type of vehicle energy storage device overvoltage account for 50% of the total number of faults.
It can be seen that the poor consistency of three-element batteries and the single undervoltage alarm are the main causes of vehicle accidents. Ternary battery enterprises should aim at their own characteristics, more targeted to improve the consistency of the battery. At the same time, in the application phase of the whole vehicle, it is also necessary to cooperate with the whole vehicle enterprise to take more targeted countermeasures, such as shortening the response time of the fault detection system, so as to deal with the problem in time and charge the under-voltage battery in time, cut off the fault area battery connection, etc.
Another example is the poor consistency of lithium iron phosphate battery, SOC jump alarm, under-voltage of on-board energy storage device, over-voltage of on-board energy storage device, low SOC alarm as the main fault source, accounting for 96% of the total fault. The malfunction of lithium manganate in passenger car is the undervoltage alarm of single cell. It is thus obvious that although mass data analysis shows that the faults of new energy vehicles are mostly on the battery, in fact, only improving battery quality enterprises can not solved the problem completely. The sustainable development of the whole industry chain, also needs the material, the battery and the whole car enterprise to work together and solve.
At the same time, many enterprises also need to increase investment in the research and development of battery management system. At present, many batteries use precision shunt products as battery detection, which can effectively reduce the failure rate of automobile batteries. In addition, the research and development of new energy vehicles in air conditioning, electric braking, DC-DC converters and other supporting parts should also attract attention. The establishment of a special supporting system for new energy vehicles and important components will contribute to further improving the performance of new energy vehicles. Improve the economy and safety, so that the overall application can reduce the occurrence of accidents.
