Why can Precision Current Shunt Detect DC and AC Accurately?
Date:2019-02-20
Precision current shunt is a kind of common resistor, which has been widely applied to household appliances. Precision current shunt has a wide variety of types and different models. They can be seen in many products. This resistor is widely used in both DC circuit boards and AC circuits, and can accurately test current size.

In the precision current shunt, there are five very stable precision resistors ( 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1 and 10Ω ), which can be used to measure AC and DC currents from 0.02A to 220A. The principle of AC / DC current measurement is based on Ohm's law, i.e. I=V/R, the current flowing through the resistance is the voltage on the resistance divided by the resistance. The precision current shunt adopts extremely stable and accurate resistance, therefore, reliable and accurate current can be obtained.

The voltage on the precision resistor is respectively connected to the connector of the output voltage and to the internal four-bit semi-alternating current ammeter. The gear selector on the panel of the precision current shunt selects one of the five voltage signals. Output to four and a half voltmeters, four-bit half-voltmeters measure more accurate AC or DC current values. If you need a more accurate or resolution current display, use a five-and-a-half or more sophisticated meter to connect to the output voltage connector.

The precision current shunt has essentially the same function as the AC / DC ammeter in the digital multipurpose ammeter, but the precision current shunt provides higher accuracy ( less than 0.01% ), better temperature coefficient (less than 10PPM/ ℃) and wider range (up to 220A).

Different brands of precision current shunt, its performance is also somewhat different. In many precision instruments, because of the high precision requirements, this requires very strict requirements for precision current shunt. In many cases, engineers will give priority to the products of major international brands of resistance manufacturers, so that the products developed to ensure greater safety.
