Foil Resistors' Performances and Applications

The foil resistor is the high accurate and stable component used to restrict the electric current flow to certain level. The foil of this resistor is made from an alloy which is of nickel, chromium, and additives are used to construct the foil because these materials provide high resistance to electric current and protect the foil resistor from damage.
In the recent years, the demand for high accurate, stable and reliable devices that operates in harsh environments has increased. Many industries, automotive, medical, military, and aerospace are looking for high accurate and stable passive components. All these requirements can be achieved with the help of foil resistors.
The foil resistor has low temperature co-efficient of resistance. This is to say, the rate at which the resistance of the foil resistor changes with the temperature is very low. Therefore, the foil resistors have high precision and stability. Apart from this, foill resistors also has the characteristics of high stability, low noise, high precision or accuracy,low capacitance and low inductance.
