The Structure and Advantages of Metal Foil High Power Resistor
Date:2019-04-04
Metal foil resistor, widely used in the current market, adopted high-precision materials has advantages both in precision and low TCR. With the increasing level of intelligence of many electronic products, metal foil resistors also ushered in a wide market space. The trend is increased by a certain amount each year, especially in metal foil high power resistors.

A double-layer metal foil planar high-power resistor, in the course of use, is provided with three layers of ceramic pieces. The upper part of the resistance piece is clamped between the upper ceramic piece and the middle ceramic piece; the lower part of the resistance piece is sandwiched between the middle layer ceramic piece and the lower layer ceramic piece. The plural metal pins are fixed evenly on the upper side and lower side of the resistor piece.

When the metal pin is powered on, a double-layer resistor structure is formed between the upper part of the resistor and the lower part of the resistor, the pulse energy of which is twice that of the existing single-layer structure. The clamping structure composed of upper-layer, middle-layer and lower-layer ceramic piece presents a plane-to-plane high-efficiency heat dissipation mechanism, which can greatly improve the heat dissipation performance of the resistor, so that the resistor structure can bear stronger pulse energy.

The metal foil high power resistor also includes the upper shell and the lower shell, which surrounded and form a cavity and one end of each metal pin passes through the upper shell.
The use of the upper and lower hulls can protect the resistor from water, dust and collision and make it safer in the usage. The gate structure of the resistor can increase the resistance value of the resistor, and has the characteristics of non-inductive, more uniform current flow, and strong pulse energy. The shrapnel setting can make the resistor close to the heat dissipation surface evenly in the process of use, so that the resistor heat dissipates quickly and is not easy to damage.
